Hands and arthritis

Any joint in your fingers, thumbs, knuckles and wrists can be affected by arthritis. Many different types of arthritis can affect your hands and cause joint pain, swelling and stiffness. Arthritis in the hands can make fine movements more difficult (such as turning a key, tying shoelaces, or opening/closing jars).

To learn more download the information sheet 'hands and arthritis' which provides general information on ways you can look after your hands manage your symptoms, and where to find further information and advice.
