"I have been meaning to let you know our experience of the Kidsflix event held recently in Hobart. Our 4 year old is on the autism spectrum, we haven't taken him to the movies prior to this – it was his first experience. His twin sister also had never attended the movies, as I was scared as to our son's reaction, meaning his twin had to miss out. We also took our 6 year old son, and a friend's 5 year old son who is a type 1 diabetic. All really enjoyed the morning. All children lined up for facepainting, I'm not sure who it was who did the actual painting, she was brilliant, our daughter would not wash her face for a day as she didn't want it to go. She was very patient with Daniel, and with other children with sensory issues, and explained everything that she was going to do, and tested it out on his hand first to make sure he was ok. The look of utter joy on his face when he saw he was now a pussycat was priceless, and will stay in my heart forever.” Maria
In partnership with Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania, Kidsflix held its inaugural event in Hobart in July 2012. Numerous children travelled from across the south of Tasmania to take part. The exciting morning was so successful that an additional event was added to be held annually in Launceston so that families in the north of Tasmania can access Kidsflix.
