General Information
The Arthritis Foundation of South Australia, incorporating Osteoporosis SA, provides support and services to South Australians affected by arthritis and associated musculo-skeletal conditions.
Musculo-skeletal conditions are broadly defined as those illnesses which affect the bones and joints of the body. There are over 100 different types of arthritis, many of which are painful and long lasting.
Arthritis, like many chronic conditions, can affect a person's ability to perform everyday physical activities, such as walking, preparing meals and showering. In addition to the physical limitations, the hidden, but very real, symptoms are enduring pain, fatigue and often depression.
